 Abstract

   Introdaction:The rapid population growth in urban areas along with industrial development has caused increase in consumption of different materials ,thrfore making more solid wastes.This has made sever health and environmental problems ,specially in megacities . If this problems would not be managed properly can lead to big crises in human society.

One of the efficient methods in solid waste management is converting them to compost and using as compost in agriculture.Production of compost from mix refuses because of its physical and chemical composition is an important issue wich requires special consideration.Not considering the standards of compost production and its quality from point of view of pathogenic micro-organisms,biological and toxins specially heavy metals, causes slowing of compost industry procedures.

Method:This research is review one using library method and present documents. While having survey in compost history in the worjd and Iran,different methods of converting biodegradable garbage also were analysed.

Finding:During this survey , we came to know that copost prepared from mixed urban garbage ,because of containing heavy metales,unwanted biological effects and not being economical, has stopped in some countries likeGermany, netherland,Ausria,Swiss and France which are the pioneers of compost production industry with new method to produce compost from planetal refuses separated from beginning.

Discussion&conclusion:Based on the findings of this research,improvement of usual methods of compost production and considering biological compost such as bioreactor method,using rhisobiom fungi ,sulfur oxidant bacteria (thiobacillus) and mixing biodegradable refuse with animal excrements are examples of new methods of compost production with no toxin.

In Iran, we should consider the followings to production of cimpost:

-providing enough fnances for fundamental and practical researches.

-expert and correct works on preparing standard and considering to articles 3 and 6 of solid waste management law.

-providing information and public education for segregation of solid waste products in the site of production.
